Tools
for high speed digital interface analysis on printed
circuit boards
The Quantum-SI™
products are used to perform high-speed digital interface
analysis between components that are located on one or
more printed circuit board (PCB) designs.
Specifically, Quantum-SI solutions may be used to:
- Quickly explore and
analyze alternate topologies or termination schemes
for high-speed parallel and serial interface designs.
- Perform exhaustive
pre-layout solution space analysis over the full range
of environmental conditions to determine the PCB
layout constraints.
During the pre-layout process, Quantum-SI is used to
analyze:
- Waveform quality
and eye diagram characteristics
- The effects of
simultaneous switching outputs and crosstalk
coupling
- Setup/hold timing
margins for synchronous and source-synchronous
interfaces
- Perform post-layout
verification to validate that the implementation meets
system waveform quality, timing and noise margin
requirements.
During the post-layout process Quantum-SI is used to
verify:
- Waveform quality
for all high-speed digital interfaces
- Board crosstalk
limits are met (single and multi-board
configurations)
- System-level noise
and timing margins are met
In addition, Quantum-SI
includes the following add-on options that enable
engineers to:
- Convert single-ended
and differential HSPICE I/O models to IBIS models.
Quantum-SI provides a highly automated process to
rapidly convert large numbers of HSPICE models to
high-quality IBIS models and to correlate the
generated models to the originals.
- Fully analyze I/O
buffers with their associated system-level
interconnects to drive critical I/O selection,
decoupling and timing requirements into the ASIC/IC/FPGA
component development process.
